Free advanced data and 30 days of unlimited commission-free stock and option trades

Questrade is offering new clients 30 days of unlimited commission-free stock and option trades in the form of commission rebates, plus one free month of an advanced data package (Advanced U.S.) when opening a new account.

How to qualify

Open a new registered self-directed, margin or TFSA* account by 11:59 p.m. ET, December 31st, 2024 and fund it with a minimum of CAD $25,000 within 30 days of account activation to get one month of unlimited commission-free stock and option trades and up to one month free of an Advanced U.S. data package.

Details on how to qualify

You must enter the offer code ADVANTAGE14 online when submitting the new account application.
If the account balance does not reach CAD $25,000 in assets within 30 days after your account is activated, you will no longer qualify for the promotion.
If you are funding your account by transferring from another broker, the transfer must be initiated by 11:59 p.m. ET, December 31st, 2024 and must be completed within 60 days of initiation to qualify for the offer.
Account holders must maintain a minimum account balance of $25,000 in assets for at least 6 months after account activation for one month of free unlimited trades offer. If the account balance falls below $25,000 in assets before the end of the 6 month period due to withdrawals on your account, you will no longer qualify for the promotion and Questrade will have the option to apply a charge to your account based on the credited amounts. If the account balance falls below $25,000 in assets due to market fluctuations, you will still be eligible for the promotion and no charges will be applied.

Commission-Free trades

Minimum required funding to get 30 days of unlimited commission-free stock and option trades is CAD $25,000.
Only trades that are completed within 30 days after a) the account is activated, and b) the account has reached at least $25,000 in assets, will be eligible for commission free stock and option trades.
This offer applies to equity trades, sells and shorts of ETFs, and option tickets (excluding the cost of contracts) and does not apply to gold trades, mutual fund trades, or foreign currency trades.
Other trade fees including exchange and ECN fees may apply.
Client will not receive cash compensation for any unused free trade commissions.

Free Data Package

Minimum required funding to get one month of the Advanced U.S. data package is CAD $25,000.
The free month of Advanced U.S. data will start on the 1st business day of the month following a) account activation, and b) when the minimum funding of $25,000 is reached, and will expire automatically on the last business day of the month. You will not need to take any action to unsubscribe from the Advanced U.S. data package after your free data period ends.
During the month of free data, clients will be subscribed to a commission plan of 1¢ per share (min 1¢ / max $6.95) for equity trades, and $6.95 + 75¢/contract for options. The commission plan will be effective for any trades that are not rebated.
Costs for additional data feeds on top of a data package are not eligible for a rebate.

*TFSA account balances are subject to Government of Canada regulations stipulating maximum annual contribution levels. Please check your TFSA contribution room in order to determine your level of unlimited free trades.

Transfer your account for free

Terms and conditions

Starting October 1, 2019, you can transfer any account to Questrade from another financial institution, regardless of the balance, and get your transfer fees rebated (maximum rebate $150/account). No limit to the number of accounts you bring over.

For a rebate, submit a statement from your financial institution displaying the transfer fees incurred within 60 days of the transfer request being submitted to Questrade.

For Questwealth™ accounts, all-in-kind and partial transfers of your securities will be liquidated. Transfers from cash accounts may be subject to capital gains taxes or provide capital losses upon liquidation. Exchange and ECN fees may apply.
